Lemon Grove School District Announcements

8:00 A.M. TO 6:30 P.M.
District Office Board Room and HR Conference Room
8025 Lincoln Street, Lemon Grove, CA 91945

The Board of Trustees of Lemon Grove School District will select a new superintendent in the near future.  Mr. Rich Thome and Dr. Dennis Smith of Leadership Associates were selected to advise the Board in this important process. They will be in our district on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 to conduct an all-day input session with various groups within our community to obtain input about the desired characteristics to be used in recruiting and selecting our new superintendent.

The trustees are soliciting input to respond to the following questions:

1.  What personal and professional qualities for an incoming superintendent will be a match for the Lemon Grove School District?
2.  What are the strengths of the District, and what are the challenges you see for the District in the coming years?

The District will also be hosting an Open Forum, which is open to all the public. No appointment is necessary to participate. This Open Forum is an opportunity for you to hear about the search process. It is also an opportunity where your ideas will be heard.

The Open Forum will be held at the District Office, 8025 Lincoln Street, Lemon Grove, CA 91945 on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.  There will be two opportunities to participate, one in the morning from 10:40 to 11:30 a.m., and another in the afternoon 4:20 to 6:30 p.m.

Lemon Tree - LGSD Logo How can you help support
our schools?

In an effort to provide the best possible learning experience for the children of Lemon Grove, the Lemon Grove School District is continuously seeking the involvement of parents and community members in the development of the
Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). This plan, which determines the ways in which state funds are spent in California schools, is a living document which guides decision-making at the schools.

Some of the ways these dollars have provided support in the current year:

  • Staff professional development
  • Analysis of student data to articulate needs and differentiated instruction
  • Implementation of Common Core standards; intervention programs
  • Specialized academy school options
  • Safe, clean and well-maintained learning environments
  • Technology hardware, software, licenses, and infrastructure
  • Increased social worker services
  • Student and family engagement

You can help support our students by adding your voice to the conversation. The LCAP is constantly being reviewed, revised and improved thanks to the input of parents, kids, staff and other community members.  Please join me so that we can work together to support our students.
