Sixth Grade Camp is AWESOME!

A once in a lifetime experience for Lemon Grove 6th graders!

  • 225 sixth graders from Lemon Grove Academy, Monterey Heights, San Altos, & San Miguel attended Cuyamaca Outdoor School September 18-22. Students from Mount Vernon and Vista La Mesa will be attending camp at the Cuyamaca Outdoor School from Oct 9 - Oct 13.

  • The memorable week included a variety of hands-on science experienced in beautiful Rancho Cuyamaca State Park.  Students gained an appreciation of nature, developed an understanding of how life functions on earth, learned the importance of reducing human impact on the environment, and practiced how to think like a scientist.

  • Students participated in countless activities throughout the week, including nature studies, all-day adventure, geocaching, rock climbing, archery, crafts, team-building, night hike, campfire, astronomy, and talent show.

  • Even though your child’s week at camp has ended, camp contributions will be accepted all year-long and may be made via the payment portal on the district website.  The total cost of the camp is $350 per child. The suggested family contribution is $125.  By making your contribution, you will help ensure that Lemon Grove sixth graders will have the opportunity to participate in this priceless once in a lifetime experience for years to come!
